Liar, liar
I sat down and got everything set up to continue writing my short story. And (Wouldn’t you know it?) I couldn’t get my mind off of Five Rings.
Well, one thing lead to another. I ended up with five more scenes for my book. And the experience was orgasmic. The words were flowing from the wellspring of narration, and certain moments exploded off the page. It was like playing one of those massive pipe organs found in vampire movies.
Scenes: (all from Cirellio’s POV, they also involve key characters Morikel and Kithani)
1: What happens when the guards arrive at the relic house door.
2: How the fire started.
3: A vicious fight amidst the blaze.
4: An escape to the stairwells as the relic house begins to fall apart.
5: An arrow.

So … I retract my previous statements. The short story will remain more of a side-project.
Potentially useful word I wasn’t 100% sure of the meaning of—of the day!:
consort – The companion of a ruler or deity; sometimes insinuates inferior status. The Queen consort is the wife of a ruling king. In Hinduism, the goddess Parvati is the consort of Shiva.

Hooray for such a wonderful writing experience!! If only it could always be like this. I’m happy for you! And I think you did the right thing, for all my opinion’s worth in this instance, listening to your gut and not forcing yourself to do the short story but rather write what was in your mind. Good for you for not putting it off! I do that – put it off – far too often.
