Characters

These are the characters of Five Rings, listed in the order they appear. ‘Key characters’ are integral to the plot.

01. Dahjal:

Appearing human to the naked eye, ‘Dahjal the Deceiver’ is an immortal demon who wanders the world of Lura, struggling against the nature of his own heart; the one thing that prevents him from taking what he desires most.

He poses as a giver, being kind to the people of Lura, to achieve his own ends and pay off karma for the centuries worth of pain he has caused.

02. Anati:

Also an immortal, Anati lost her sister to the void. At that point, her personality all but vanished. She seemed to take on Astarte’s war-loving, sadistic personality instead. ‘Anati the War-torn’ may never be satisfied—no matter how many mortals she tortures and kills—but Dahjal struggles to bring her back to the girl he remembers from his youth.

Sadly, she enjoys Dahjal’s pain … if she is even herself anymore.
