Hi,
I love the site, and it truly is inspiring to see somebody on the same track as me (Admittedly further along.....) But I have to be an ass and point out the actual shape of a water droplet is a sphere. rather than the traditional 'teardrop' shape, althought that's a pretty energy efficient shape too so you're still on the right track :D

It is absolutely right what you are telling about writing a text, a story, a book or whatever. I am writing poems since eight years and I can promise that you learn better, if you write regularly. I have no problems with writing 4 or 5 pages ad hoc.
If you are really interested in writing you better follow principle "Learning by Doing"

Really nice. This poem pulls in so many ways.
You have a real sense of what you want to say and manage,
quite nicely, to say it well.

I'll keep you in mind for my blogroll. Let me know if that would ok.

Hi Darcy!
“However, a wise writer will start with the most plausible fantastic elements first.”
I believe Greenway was simply referring to the suspension of disbelief here.
But it's a little preposterous for him to claim we should rely on archaic rules such as 'something sacrificed for something gained' to achieve plausibility.

I agree with you that a good writer should be able to use their own common sense (and strong narration) to not break the delicate suspension of disbelief that holds readers to their
book.

Hmm, I'm not sure about Greenway's list. There are a few things about it that bug me. "However, a wise writer will start with the most plausible fantastic elements first." Blah. Plausible can be cliche.

Voice is my number one requirement. Is it strong? Believable? Does it draw you into the story or character or is the voice of the MC just acting as the narrator? And most importantly; is it consistent with the development of the character?
